I am fortunate enough to say since birth my life has been richly filled with art. Growing up with a mother who was a potter/is a successful entrepreneur and a father who is farmer by day, musician by night, creativity was something our house never lacked. My days were spent running freely on the shores of Okanagan Lake either drawing, singing or enjoying the beauty of nature. One could always find me with a song in my head, or a pen in my hand.

Having traveled to numerous countries and seeing incredible art in many beautiful and diverse cultures, I enrolled in the Visual Arts Program at The University of British Columbia in my hometown, Kelowna.  What began as a lantern project in school quickly grew to creating outdoor light sculptures which then lead me to what is now my main tool; a plasma cutter.

This uses compressed air blown at high speed out of a nozzle; at the same time an electrical arc is formed from the nozzle to the surface being cut, turning  a portion of the pushed air into plasma.

Transforming recycled or found metal into a piece of art that communicates balance, grace and complexity is not only my form of meditation, but also my small contribution to the planet.
As a result, this emulates an unintentional metaphor that beauty can be found in most any and everything.
